Chickamagua

Diplomamunkám, a Chickamagua Ambrose Bierce azonos címet viselő novellájának a feldolgozása és webre történő átültetése. Számomra a projekt kihívását az jelentette, hogy az illusztrációkat intenzív stilizációval, gesztusszerűen dolgozzam ki. A gyermeki rajzok és primitívebb törzsek ábrázolásmódjait tanulmányozva jutottam el a végleges megjelenítési formáig. Igyekeztem megtartani a tussal készített képek frissességét, így a lehető legkevesebb digitális utómunkát alkalmaztam a bedigitalizált, festett részleteken. Célom az volt, hogy ötvözzem a web nyújtotta lehetőségeket a hagyományos vizuális ábrázolással, mindezt a novella hangulatának megfelelő stílusban.

My diploma work is the adaptation of the Chickamagua, short story written by Ambrose Bierce with the same title and its rendering onto the web. The challenge that the project meant for me was that I develop the illustrations by intensive stylization gesture-like. By studying children’s drawings and the ways of representations by primitive tribes, I got to the final form of representation. I tried to preserve the fresh-character of the pictures made with ink, and thus I applied the least possible digital after-work in the digitalized, painted details. My goal was to combine the possibilities provided by the web with the traditional visual representation, all this in a style matching the mood of the short story.
