A TRIO: The Ring I Owe című kisjátékfilm egy családi generáció tragédiáját dolgozza fel, amely egyszerre vezet be az 50-es évek traumáiba, az emberi életek és a psziché kiszámíthatatlanságába. A cselekmény két fő karakter köré épül, és több idősíkban játszódik. Életüket meghatározza egy kék zafír gyűrű, amely nemcsak kapcsolatot teremt, de értelmet ad háttértörténeteiknek és döntéseiknek. A film bevezető részében megismerünk egy idős urat, akit a múltja miatt rémálmok gyötörnek. Gyermekkorában az ÁVH tisztjei a szeme láttára lelövik szüleit, és nem marad más számára, mint az édesanyja gyűrűje. Ebből kifolyólag sorsa már a kezdeteknél megpecsételődik, és élete további szakaszait is a félelem és a szorongás jellemzi. Később családot alapít, gyermeke születik, azonban boldogsága csupán ideiglenes. A benne élő démonok felemésztik, megoldatlan problémái miatt alkoholistává válik, végül felesége és lánygyermeke is elhagyja. Magára marad és idővel felismeri, hogy külső segítségre van szüksége.

TRIO: The Ring I Owe is a short fiction about the tragedy of a family. The story revolves around characters in different periods in history. The common piece in their lives is a sapphire ring which not only binds them together but gives meaning to their background and actions. At the beginning of the film we see an old man who is haunted by his past. As a child he witnesses the secret police killing his parents and all he is left with is his mother’s sapphire ring. The events of his childhood come to determine most of his life, filling him with fear and inhibition. He later has a family and child of his own but his happiness is only temporary. His inner demons come to the surface as he is unable to get away from his past, he becomes an alcoholic and he is eventually abandoned by his wife and child. As he is left alone he realizes that he needs help. The film shows us the traumas of the 1950s and how the human psyche works.
