A történetben egy kislány az édesanyjával az utcán sétálva talál egy lyukas medált, amin átnézve szörnyeket kezd el látni. A szörnyek közül az egyik, a hibikán üldözőbe veszi. A film szereplője fontos szereplője még – Lucán és a hibikánon kívül – a kislány édesanyja is. A történet alapjául szolgáló várost egri és szentendrei élmények hatására alkottam meg. A filmben próbáltam minél több magyar mitológiai elemet szerepeltetni, köztük a Lucához kapcsolódó karácsonyi szokást és a busó álarcokat, de fontos inspirációul szolgáltak a saját, gyermekkoromból származó szörnyekről alkotott elképzeléseim is. A történettel azt szerettem volna kifejezni, hogy a tudástól, problémáktól való elfutás vagy azok létezésének tagadása sohasem jó megoldás.

In the story, while walking down the street with her mother, a little girl finds a medal with a hole in it and looking through it, she begins to see monsters. Hibikan, one of the monsters, starts chasing her. Besides Luca (Lucy, the little girl) and the hibikán, the little girl’s mother also plays an important role in the film. The city where the story takes place is inspired by my experiences in Eger and Szentendre. I tried to involve as many Hungarian mythological elements in the film as possible, including the Christmas tradition of Saint Lucy and the ”busó” masks, and my ideas about my childhood monsters inspired my work, too. My aim with the story was to express the idea that runing away from knowledge and problems or the denial of their existence is never a good solution.
