Az Idiopathiás thrombocytopéniás purpura (ITP) egy autoimmun betegség, amelynek legfőbb tünete az alacsony vérlemezkeszám. A vérlemezkéknek (thrombocytáknak) a véralvadásban van fontos szerepük, ezért jelentős csökkenésük vérzékenységhez vezet. A know.itp egy felvilágosító kampány, amelynek célja a betegek és hozzátartozóik tájékoztatása a betegségről: milyen tünetekkel jár, milyen vizsgálatok várnak a betegekre, milyen gyógyszerek, kezelések előtt állnak. A kampány központi eleme egy kiadvány: egy minden információt tartalmazó személyes útmutató a betegek számára. Ezen kívül online és offline felvilágosító kampány is társul hozzá, mely a betegségben szenvedők személyes tapasztalatait is megosztja a tárgyilagos tájékoztatás mellett. A projekt, ami sokat segíthet az érintetteknek már a kezdetektől, hiánypótló, hiszen jelenleg nem áll ilyen rendelkezésre.

Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) is an autoimmune disease the main symptom of which is low blood platelet level. Platelets (thrombocytes) play an important role in blood clotting and therefore their significant decrease in the blood flow leads to haemophilia. Know.itp is an information campaign aimed at informing patients and their relatives about the disease: its symptoms, the medical examinations awaiting for the patients and the medications used in the treatment. The central element of the campaign is a brochure: a personal guide for the patients with all the information about the illness. In addition, it is accompanied by both an online and offline awareness campaign that shares the personal experiences of people suffering from the illness besides providing objective information as well. The project, which can give a lot of help for those concerned already from the beginning of the disease, fills a gap as there is currently no such publication available.
