Rokoya

In my master’s degree work, I used the Szekler’s traditional motifs to create the ROKOYA brand, a system that generates contemporary folk-art sample. The user of the ROKOYA gives their personal details and the system processing these data is able to create a contemporary image of the traditional motif. The name of the brand ROKOYA is originating from the previous centuries, when Szekler women used this kind of traditional skirt on a daily basis. While planning my thesis, the main focus was not on processing the visuality of the folk motifs, but more on understanding and utilising its inherent features.
