This exhibition organized in the event of becoming a university offers a selection of the students latest works in different genres and techniques, which intends to represent the versatile artistic work happening in the institution. The artworks and artistic positions may have one thing in common – even in relation to nonfigurative and organic forms – that their point of reference is the human, his/her place, space and what is more: his/her mark, lack. If the elements of contemporary object culture, the imprints of the world of objects reveals itself in them, the reference point still remains the man, as he/she is the one whom this material environment refers to. These pictures, videos and installations lead the viewer now and then into transitional zones, non-places, and sometimes into ephemerous conditions between existence and non-existence.
They discover over the personal what they want to know about the world, as art is – partly – an anthropological investigation, a pursuit of ourselves, thematizing the relationship between the self and the other.
