Szeretünk itt élni / We like to live here

Elmaradottság, kilátástalanság és pénzhiány – ez jellemzi a mai kárpátaljai Rafajnaújfalu hétköznapjait. A portréfilm interjúkon keresztül mutatja be a magyar település igazi arcát: a fiatalok elvándorlását és a magára maradt idősek sorsát. A közintézmények és utak fejletlenek, az ukrán nyelvet pedig kevesen ismerik. Mindezek ellenére a soknemzetiségű vidéken továbbra is megmaradnak magyarnak. Sokan még vissza is térnek Nyugatról. A film egy elsődleges megközelítés a kárpátaljai magyarok mindennapjairól.

Lack of development, no hope for the future and poverty - these are all things that characterize everyday life in town of Rafajnaújfalu in Transcarpathia Oblast, Ukraine. Through interviews the film presents the real face of a small Hungarian minority community living in the Ukraine today: The exodus of young people and the fate of the elderly left alone. The infrastructure and public serice is poor and only a few can speak the Ukrainian language. Despite this they still remain Hungarian, many even choose to return from the west. The aim of the film is to portray the everyday life of the Hungarian minority community.
