The egg in its unmistakable simplicity has captured the human imagination for thousands of years. A symbol of the origin of life and the mystery of creation, it is the starting point of scientific and mythical narratives. The exhibition takes this familiar form and reinterprets it. At once playful and profound, personal and communal.
EGGOISM is revealed through an exploration of the everyday mutability of the egg. The creators play with the idea of transformation and the object of disguise, while also referring to the fragility of human life through the fragility of the egg. Or they search for the possibilities of renewal and rebirth.
The images point to the precariousness of life, but also to its resilience, that something that is broken can still hold beauty and meaning, as can the challenges and trials that life throws at us. Through these different representations, the exhibition invites viewers to explore the egg not only as an object of biological origin, but as a symbol of universal themes of birth, possibility, fragility and transformation.
