My thesis, entitled The Strange Wildlife of Hegyközlak – Creature Design in Concept Art, focuses on creature design. In my work, I describe how creature design differs from character design, as well as the specialized knowledge and techniques involved in the former. The practical part of my thesis is a 3D video game called Hegyközlak, in which the player can discover and capture the unique wildlife of an aging Eastern European village. The gameplay was designed for exhibition purposes, so visitors can learn about the different animals with the help of a nature guide.
