The tales of the Brothers Grimm are among the world’s best-known and most popular collections of stories, but we rarely encounter adaptations that emphasize the original, often darker, more mystical, and more philosophical layers of these tales. These stories go beyond children’s entertainment: they describe fundamental questions, fears, and desires of human life, which is why they are also relevant for adults. With the help of darker, deeper illustrations, I would like to emphasize the mystical and grotesque side of the stories while preserving their magic and morals. This way, the tales gain new layers of meaning for adult readers and come to life in a contemporary, visually unique form
